Ia Ninidze, an icon of Georgian theater and cinema, has finished her 55-year career on stage. 55 years ago Filmmaker Gia Danelia filmed 8-year-old Ia Ninidze playing Cino in the movie “Don’t Worry”. Since then, she has acted in over 40 noteworthy and memorable motion pictures and performed for 15 years on the stage of the Shota Rustaveli State Academic Theater.
The jubilee event will take the form of an artistic production that thoroughly represents Ia Ninidze’s 55-year career in cinema and theater.
In accordance to the script, Nikoloz Tsulukidze, a theater expert, will lead the evening and offer the audience with familiar and recently unknown insights about Ia Ninidze’s work over the course of 55 years. Nani Bergvadze, Nana Pachuashvili, Nino Ananiashvili, Lela Alibegashvili, Nanuli Sarajishvili, Nana Janelidze, Dato Evgenidze, Eka Mamaladze, Temur Tatarashvili, Merab Sefashvili, Natalia Kutateladze, and the vocal quartet “Forte” are among the partners and friends of Ia Ninidze in theater and film who will participate in the evening procession. The evening will be musically marked by Maestro Nika Nikvashvili.
