Program ,, Stvely”

 

 

We cordially welcome you to join us on September 7 in Telavi, in the courtyard of King Erekle’s palace, as we celebrate the new grape harvest, known as “Stvely”.

– Best Georgian wine samples will be on display and for sale

– grapes will be crushed in a traditional press

– 18th-century Kartl-Kakheti traditions will be presented, along with the etiquette of King Erekle’s royal family

– Kakheti-specific culinary corner will feature traditional dishes on display and for sale

– symbolic blend known as “King Erekle’s wine” will be created at the festival once tasters have chosen the best Rkatsiteli, Kakhur green, Kisi, and Khikhivi;

– 12:00 .: The National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia “Sakpatenti” will offer Kakhuri wines, which are manufactured from Georgian grapes and are named after their historical places of origin;

–  13:00 – “King Erekle and Kakheti” musical-literary piece will be performed.

– 14:00 .: Yitzhak Shalev, the festival’s special guest and best winemaker in Israel in 2019, will lead a master class and wine tasting. During the lesson, wines that Shalev has produced in Israel over the past four years will be tasted.

– 16:00 .: Giorgi Kalandia, director of the Palace of Arts, Museum of Cultural History, will present a cultural-theatrical presentation titled “King Erekle, Kakheti, and Georgian wine,” which will be supplemented by historical materials.

 

– 17:00 .: The best mix of “King Erekle Wine” is created, and the victors are given gold, silver, and bronze medals along with the matching certificates.

– Giorgi Kalandia, the director of the Museum of Cultural History at the Palace of Arts, wrote and presented the script for the historical-cultural program;

– Participants: People’s Artist of Georgia Vano Yantbelidze, singer Anri Jokhadze, folk ensembles “Tsinandali” and “Chakrulo”, Georgian martial art “Horolli”, STU theater-studio “Come and see”.

– The competition jury’s members are: Marco Norsi, a musician and wine connoisseur from New York, USA; Tom Williams, a professional food and wine writer from London, UK; Yitzhak Shalev, an Israeli winemaker; Ross Kloss, the producer of the television program “World Wine Battles” from New Zealand;
